Missions - Work Projects
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart,

There are various projects that we participate in directly during the year. Some teams work on-site at the church, while other groups travel, both locally and to other areas of the country to help others in a hands-on way.
The God’s Workers Team will reach people for Christ through helping with the home/lawn care needs of the elderly and those who do not have the means to hire the work to be done.
Building homes for those in need in the Indianapolis area.
Jimmy Carter Work Project - The Jimmy Carter Work Project is a “blitz build” held once a year either nationally or internationally. The effort is set about to build many houses over a one week period of time.
This group of 10 United Methodist Churches are in an impoverished area of northeast Alabama, In order to accomplish all of their mission work, they rely on work teams from other areas of the country. Work teams work in the cannery or thrift shop and clean up or carpentry for local individuals. SUMC has provided a work team each year for many years.
